I bookmarked Iseya Robatayaki  a while ago, glad I finally got around to dining here. And finally!! I popped in on a Saturday night at Iseya. This place has seriously luxurious interior with with Japanese flair to it. Every detail matters to get aesthetic pleasure from the surrounding environment during a meal. This high-end restaurant has a nice spacious area too.

Now on to the food. I had 3 appetizer, Sukiyaki, and of course dessert and here’s the food review :


I started off with some small dishes named Zensai for appetizer. It contained of Salmon, Unagi, and Tempura. I will explain one by one. Salmon was fresh, Unagi seasoned perfectly, and Tempura was a lil bit crispy, not overly-breaded and had the perfect amount of sauce, with a great flavor. I strongly recommend this menu for starter.

Chawan Mushi

If you are a Japanese cuisine lover, you must know Chawan Mushi (or Steamed Egg Custard). Go get this and you won't regret. So do I, at Iseya I had Chawan Mushi. It was so tasteful and delicate. It melted in your mouth. Also there were bits of seafood inside which gave me a nice surprise. So good.

Salmon Saikyo Yaki

I have to say though, Salmon Saikyo Yaki really blew me away. Salmon Saikyo Yaki was a grilled Salmon that was cooked in a special sake miso sauce (or called saikyo sauce). The fish itself is fatty, which makes the meat extremely soft. I also loved the marinade that was used on the salmon. I simply like it and I want more.


The highlight was Sukiyaki. And everything was fresh, the vegetables, meat and mushroom. The wagyu was tender and tasty, bursting with juicy flavour through my taste buds. My favourite thing's the staff cooked Sukiyaki in front of the visitor so it was fun to watch. You certainly didn't disappoint with this one.


Then I bit into my dessert. It was just so good. The dessert was a cake with fruits like Kiwi, Strawberry, and Sunkist. So, there are many colors on the plate that make it pretty. The cake was fluffy and not too sweet. And most important thing was the cake had exactly the right amount of bite without being too heavy after ate Sukiyaki.

So as this short of a review comes to a close, I'll leave you with this. Iseya Sukiyaki’s a hidden gem. Pricey, but a gem nevertheless. I enjoyed everything that arrived on my table. Nonetheless, I thought the service seemed slow, but chef Junya Takeoka from Sapporo, Jepang was friendly to customer and helpfull to all staffs. Personally, it was a fun night, my stomach was happy and full.

Hands down my new favorite brunch spot. Yes, Leon! With a blend of modern classy and industrial decor, Leon presents an aesthetic balance that personally I love. Selecting the right color palette, good lighting, and comfy furniture, Leon offers customer a casual dining experience with its wide range of common menu.

I visited Leon at lunchtime and have a nice meal without breaking the bank at Senopati area. Everything I had here for lunch was excellent. Check my review below.

- Salmon and Corn

Everything on the menu looked amazing but the waiter suggested me a Salmon and Corn. I agreed with him. It was a gorgeous, Salmon was thick and fluffy. Thus, I got the perfect bite of Salmon each time. It had a rich flavour also, oh so delicious. The dressing was good, I mean not overpowering. And the side dish, avocado with potato added the perfect touch for me. I thought I'm a fan.

- Black Angus Fried Rice

I'm gluttonous so next came the spectacular Black Angus Fried Rice. It was also cooked perfectly. The texture of the meat was insanely juicy. Mild flavour of the Black Angus combined well with the fried rice. Also, ‘kerupuk’ was the best side dish. My kind of garnish! Most important thing for lunch, the portion size was pretty generous.

- Xinjiang Cumin Lamb

My friend got the Xinjiang Cumin Lamb. He was delighted after the first taste of the satay, he said it was delicious . So, I need to gave it a try. Yeah, in my opinion, the lamb was chewy in a good way and  overflowing with lots of seasoned. Last but not least, the sauce combination went so well together with the lamb.

This place has it all- excellent customer service and excellent food.  It's definitely busy, but the dining area is spacious. This seems to be a wonderful day, I can't wait to go back to Leon. If you're looking for a satisfying lunch meal, I definitely recommend this place. Thank you Leon for having me.

Never ending story, Bali.

I have visited Bali many times and always pleasure to explore it. This time, mostly Ubud area is my destination. With all its charm, Ubud is able to attract anyone to come here. Trees,  fresh air, and the hospitality of its citizens are the most prominent things.

Everyone spends their time in Ubud differently. Without a doubt, culture in Ubud is irreplaceable but you will be glad to know that their restaurant is not left behind either. There are many reasons to restaurant-hop when in Ubud with such good vibes and ambience.

And here are some of the restaurant I visited in Ubud:

Jungle Fish at Chapung Sebali

I'd heard amazing things about Jungle Fish, so me and my boyfriend ended up lunch here. I started with the Avocado Fries. This wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but it looks more like a fancy appetizer. A little bit bitter and you need dragon fruit sauce to complete the taste.

For other menu, Me and my boyfriend was contemplating whether to choose the Bolognese Pasta or the Salmon Pizza until we finally made the decision to go with the Salmon Pizza. The food was extraordinarily delicious in all the right ways. I like the ambience too. Yeah, whatever the occasion, this is your spot.

Swept Away at The Samaya Hotel

I always hesitate to give a 5-star review after only one visit, but not with Swept Away. Located at The Samaya Hotel Ubud, Swept Away has a beautiful interior specially since we were the first customers so the place was neat. First off, we started with entrees and the bread board, which comes with a loaf of delicious bread and butter.

For appetizer, I went with Salmon and Prawn with dressing that was super tasty. And for main course, I had Bebek Samaya which was amazing. Beside that, they had wine menus with a lot of variety. Then, I chose Rose Wine and my boyfriend ordered white wine. This is exactly what a great dinning experience is all about.

Folk Pool and Garden

Visited Folk Pool and Garden on a Friday at 8 pm. Our comfortable place at Folk was in the daybed, combined with the pool as a view creates an ambiance perfect for a glass of cocktail and beer. But both of them wasn’t my order. I chose Strawberry Tea and Mocktail. For food menu, Spring Rolls and Nachos were good choice. Beside that, the staffs were well-paced and very friendly. Overall definitely recommend this place. Nice and quiet. Good for date nights.

Habitat Cafe

Need some coffee, so here we go. Habitat Ubud! My boyfriend and I lucked into getting the last two seats at Habitat in outdoor area. I went with Hot Latte and my boyfriend ordered Iced Cappuccino. About my Latte, It’s not too heavy, very light flavors. Maybe I should ordered double shot, but no problem. For food, I opted for the Salmon Sushi which has a strong taste. I thought they used ‘kecombrang’ into it. And in fact, these Sushi went perfectly with my coffee : )

Ibiza In Bali

Wow! Yes, the rating is correct. This place is outstanding. But I don’t know this place wasn’t too crowded even though I came at the weekend. Maybe Ibiza in Bali has to do more extra marketing strategies because in my opinion this place is good to visit.

Anyway, I started with Calamary for appetizer, very much recommend. Next, we have Barramundi for share. Huge portion and it’s wonderful taste. So smooth and very rich with the squid ink sauce. And I ordered one bottle of white wine to share with my friends.

Just can't say enough about what a special treat it was. The server was friendly and helpful throughout the meal. She kept our wine filled and was not pushy about getting drinks, dessert, etc. And we can used Daybed in front of the beach. Overall make sure to stop by for lunch or dinner during the weekend in Ibiza.

Pison Coffee

I always visit the Pison every time I’m in Bali. Although Pison has a branch in Jakarta (Senopati), but still in love with Pison in Bali, unbeatable.And I've been here twice during my visits in Bali (11 – 15 June). Anyway, my all time favourite is Iced Cappuccino. You’ll be blessed with this coffee which was has a bold taste with subtle hints of sweetness. My other favourites were Spaghetti Bolognese and Almond Croissant. Both were amazing. This was a great lunch to be sure!

Mengulas mengenai tempat acara, Bunga Rampai sukses menjadi tuan rumah yang sigap. Mulai dari staff yang profesional, area yang memadai, dan terlebih sajian yang menggugah selera. Nah untuk topik menu makanan ini, mari kita bahas satu persatu ya.

- Kembang Pacar
Kembang Pacar hadir menjadi appetizer pertama. Saya cukup kagum dengan cara Bunga Rampai mempresentasikannya. Cantik, di luar dugaan. Mereka menggunakan nanas sebagai wadah. Sementara main menunya sendiri berupa udang berbalut tepung yang semakin nikmat dicocol dengan sambal.

- Tahu Telor
Berikutnya ada Tahu Telor yang lagi lagi dihidangkan dengan presentasi tak biasa. Tahu Telor disusun ke atas menyerupai menara dan disiram dengan kecap manis. Tahu Telornya sendiri lembut dengan bagian luar yang garing. Makanan khas Jawa Timur ini lebih condong ke perpaduan manis dan gurih, sebagaimana selera orang Indonesia.

- Nasi Bali
Masuk ke menu utama, saya dan teman – teman top contributor lainnya disuguhkan Nasi Bali. Menu ini lengkap disajikan dengan lauk seperti kentang kering, daging ayam suwir, Sate Lilit, dan lain sebagainya. Menurut saya masing-masing lauknya punya rasa yang rich dan mampu membuat siapa saja ketagihan.

- Konro Bakar
Dari Jawa Timur, Bali, kali ini kami ‘terbang’ ke Makassar. Ah ini primadona saya malam itu, yakni Konro Bakar. Disajikan sederhana namun tetap ekspresif, Konro Bakar sukses membuat saya berdecak kagum. Sangat tasty dengan bumbu yang menyerap hingga ke bagian dalam daging. Saya merasakan gurih yang maksimal. Suka!

- Passion Fruit Cheese Cake
Terakhir dan juga hidangan yang ditunggu-tunggu. Saya punya Passion Fruit Cheese Cake. Beberapa rekan Top Contributor lain nampak antusias mengabadikan menu yang satu ini. Jelas saja, tampilannya sangat cantik dengan perpaduan gradasi warna yang sedap dipandang mata. Senada dengan tampilannya, menu ini juga punya cita rasa yang nikmat.

Where to find alcohol?

Potato Head
Atmosphere is fancy, sophisticated, pretentious, but no overdone. Must try Volcano Agung, double for 2 person. It’s strong and fruity. Contains of rums, apricot brandy, Bali Arak, and citrus. One of good dessert choice was Fried Banana with ice cream. Actually addictive. I can't say enough about this place, the food and the ambience. Another spot for me to come by and visits on next holiday.

I had a few hours for hang out and found this place. The atmosphere was very fancy and staffs were extremely proper. Just try their variant of Mocktail and Cocktail. One of them is Michelada. I was drawn in by the sweet, concentrated, and delicious. So good though. Actually addictive!

Motel Mexicola
That was my first experience here. Speaking about interior, the vibe is intimate, but it's cool I liked it that way. For menu, I highly recommended Churros with chocolate sauce. Beside that, my experience was amazing! At the end, I had so much fun here.

La Favela
Never feel bored here. The space is cozy, welcoming, and lifts my spirits. I arrived here at 8 pm  (before party started :D). Be sure and get one of their Pizza because it was delicious and fresh perfectly. Crispy well seasoned deliciousness, topped with cheese and beef. Paired with beer, yeah, simply fantastic!

I need a coffee!

Once you are inside, your are greeted with the aromas of coffee and baked goods. Love it. I was 3 times here when in Bali. Yet again another well executed coffee and croissant. Must try Iced Cappuccino. Sweet and strong at the same time. Also Chocolate Croissant. It was delicious and baked perfectly.

Seniman Coffee
Stopped in for a quick coffee at Seniman. I had Cappuccino and I was never disappointed. Strong and smooth. Seniman Coffee also has Jamu, Indonesian traditional herbal drink and I chose Kunyit Asam. It was awesome. Try this one too. Overall, a great experience, can't explain it anymore!

Me and my friend were starving, so we decided to give this place another shot because this is the closest Burger restaurant to us. Yeah, I had Wimpy! The beef was so big and tasty. Damn, I was having a noon time gastronomical orgasm.  I was pretty much full after enjoyed this Burger. Also Milkshake Vanilla with peanut butter. Wanna some?

Burrasai contains a selection of my favourite Japanese Food like Sushi, Tempura, Yakisoba, Okonomiyaki, and many more. First of all, Kansai built up your appetite. Which is Okonomiyaki with mix yaki and chicken. Also, Sushi made the best companions. Fresh and mild flavor. Overall, the experience was very pleasant, beautifully done with impeccable service. Mostly I was satisfied.

Sushimi Kai
Sushimi contains a selection of my favourite sushi, like salmon, shimaaji, maguro, and ika. Our Sushi that we ordered were good. Don’t forget to added lime. They gave it a hint of citrus flavor and shoyu was the perfect spice. Super "wow-ed".

Café Pomegranate
I’m glad to be here. Yummy food that I ordered, like Singaporean Chicken Rice. Steamed chicken leg with special ginger sauce. Also served with Miso Soup. Located in Ubud, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the food with the rice fields view up close. Definitely worth checking out.

I'm glad I did it was homie and spacy. It felt upscale, yet relaxed. Dinner started with Nasi Goreng Rendang and I recommended it! Rich, truly a delight. Next, I had Barramundi was good as well. Yeah should be fun here!
